Our School Logo

The View Road School Logo was a design sourced from three past pupil’s designs, which were blended to resemble what it is today.  This new logo was first used as the school changed to a full primary, from a senior school.

Being situated by the sunset coast, the idea of the sun stems from the Waiuku Logo.  The eight rays represent the 8 Year Levels.  Similarly the waves of which there are eight as well grow in size as the learner progresses through the kura.  These waves are representative of both the estuary and our local beach, Kariotahi.

The learner in the middle of the sun is one who is reaching higher, striving to achieve.  The bands either side of the learner could be interpreted as education outside of the classroom, and Tikanga Maori is represented by the sea waves forming a line of koru.
